The Round Rock Honey Beekeeping Course was designed and developed as a comprehensive yet easily understandable introduction to bees, beekeeping, and honey production. In every one of our classes, we provide students with the general knowledge that all beekeepers need to succeed. In addition, we provide the opportunity to suit up (bee suits and gloves provided of course), and gain a real-world hands-on experience at one of our own apiaries, either onsite or nearby. If you're looking to start beekeeping or just learn more about those wonderful little pollinators, you'll find this class is a real sweet time.
Round Rock Honey beekeeping instructors are known for their commitment to teaching sustainable beekeeping practices in addition to using a local, "organic", approach to maintaining hives. Our instructors all have significant beekeeping backgrounds and will ensure that every student leaves our class with the most rewarding learning experience possible. If you have questions or comments concerning one of our instructors, please send your e-mail to email@example.com and include the name of the instructor you are inquiring about.
Classes are held on Saturday's or Sunday's(Redwood City), and classes usually begin at 10am or 1pm. Our class is approximately 3 hours long. Please check out our calendar on here for the most up-to-date schedule and availability for each location. Classes are held year-round but weather is always taken into consideration.
We highly recommend all students to adhere to the following dress code for safety reasons:
Jeans or long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and closed-toed shoes that cover the ankle. We also recommend everyone bring a baseball cap. It will help keep the beekeeping veil/hood up on your head. Wearing tall boots will also help ensure a proper seal with your beekeeping suit and prevent bites and stings from other insects that may be present in the bee yard.
You must be at least 7 years of age or older to participate. Participants under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
In addition all participants must sign this Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement. To expedite class check-in procedures, please bring your signed Participant Agreement with you to class.
Round Rock Honey is always looking for new locations to bring both our bees and our classes to. If you have a suggestion for us, please e-mail your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org.
